We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. It's a post processing technique. Basically merging together the same picture of the same thing shot at different exposures... The picture on top is the more "over the top" shot... and the bottom one is the more realistic version... both are HDR... Here is the Wiki:
